Diana Taurasi Diana Taurasi of the University of Connecticut receives the Honda Award in basketball for the second year in a row after leading her team to its third straight national title. Taurasi, a senior, scored 17 points in the championship game, a 70-61 victory over Tennessee. The 6-0 guard, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four, averaged 16.2 points, 4.9 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game this season.

Taurasi finished her career second all-time in scoring in the NCAA tournament with 428 points and third in field goals with 151 (47%). A three-time All-American and this season's Big East Player of the Year, Taurasi is the first player in UConn history, male or female, to total at least 2,000 points, 600 assists and 600 rebounds in a career. She set UConn career records with 318 three-pointers and 648 assists.
